SENIOR TRIP '07

Been to the river named Arkansas in South Central Colorado.
--1200 miles in an unmarked, white van: survivable.
--11 of the most awesome people in my life traveling 1200 miles with me: do-able.
--11 of the most fearless people I know traveling a mere 18 miles down the Arkansas River: strikingingly resilient
--Meeting a guide named Paulo: eery calmness
--Riding the bull while on the Arkansas River: like being Superman
--Being attacked by killer flying ants atop Skyline Drive: life-threatening yet comical
--Making memories with the Class of '07 while maneuvering down the Arkansas river, while conversing with Dave & Paulo, while riding the bull, while surviving killer ants, while in a van that was at times down by the river: PRICELESS!

(Thanks to Reid, Trey, Jonathan, Ben, Katie, Erin, Lane, LaNette, Rusty, & Lindsay for an incredible trip! You people rock!!!!!)

SKI TRIP '07! CRESTED BUTTE HERE WE COME!

Well, we are finally closing in on the final hours before our departure for the great mountain, Mt. Crested Butte, CO, and if we could skip the bus ride, well, it would make a great trip an excellent trip. Pray for the crew going, and that we will make an impact for Christ from the moment we leave the parking lot at Quail til our return to it!

WHAT A WEEKEND!!!!!!

When God moves it is a movement that is beyond anything that we can create, and such was this past Gravity Weekend '07! I am truly in awe of what took place with us, and how God was not just around us, but truly in & through us. All I can say is look what happens when we invite the Lord to lead & go before us. Nothing compares to the King of Glory when we are able to feast at His table!

Thank you to all of you who were with us, those who helped in the smallest & largest of ways, and those who prayed with great fervor! Like I shared with most of you, we can put on a decent weekend in our own strength & knowledge, but now we know what it's like to be part of a God-sized moment that only He can do!

Be the CRASH! Live it, breathe it, give your life for the heart of your King!!!!

GRAVITY REGISTRATION & ENCOUNTER PRAYER DAYS...

First off, continue to register on-line for our Gravity Weekend '07: The Crash! www.qsbc.org/registration
Continue to lift up our Gravity Weekend, daily & nightly, but more than than, plan on signing up for an hour or more of prayer during our Encounter Prayer Days leading up to our weekend starting Sat., Feb. 3. (Sign up upstairs on the board across from the main youth entrance.)

We are also needing "Encounter Hosts" to man the prayer area each day & night (especially during the day when students are at school!). We ask that a host set aside four hours to help those coming to prayer each hour with explanation of the different prayer stations, and to help them walk through. If you would like to be an "E-Host" during the any day of the week, please let me know asap! Thanks, again, for your servant hearts!

Class Mission Projects

Good Wednesday Morning Crew!

I am excited about class mission projects you & our teachers are beginning to put together, and can't wait to see what you have planned! I would like to have your first project plan put together & on paper by Sun., Feb. 4, and if you need to take some class time to do so the next couple of Sundays, please do it! I have begun to receive a couple of project plans already, and look forward to the others. Remember, if needed, you can combine the same grade (guys & girls) for one of the two projects for this semester! Any questions, please contact me asap!

Thanks for serving beyond yourselves!

THANK YOU TO THE ICE MOVERS!!!!

We want to give a shout out to all of our students & future students who helped "move" the ice frosting off of the sidewalks on Thursday! Thank you to:

Dax Dilbeck, Leighton Dilbeck, Garrett Greenwood,Reid Jackson, Blaine Jackson, Chelsea Boyd, Casea Boyd, Kaylie Frazier & Fearless SuperVan Greenwood! It looks great!
Also, thanks to Tyler Smith & his Dad for providing & using their tractor & time to clear our parking lots! You guys rock! Maybe, just maybe, we'll actually have church this coming Sunday!

All I can say is that if we didn't appreciate what we have as a family of believers at QSBC, we surely have been awakened to the realization of what it's like to not be able to gather as a body. I pray we don't let a few inches of the white pretty stuff keep us from coming to the House. See you Sunday!

I miss seeing all your faces, but hopefully we'll see them this Sunday (while you're praying, pray we do get to have some worship time together this Sunday, and that the storm does what it needs to do on Monday!) Have a great day off tomorrow, cool students, & I will see you soon!

Prayer Needs for the Week of January 14...

Hopefully this post finds you well, but if you have any needs, situations, or know someone who needs prayer, please comment with any info you want to share.

Personally, I would ask that you pray for my step-dad, Don Arnold, who goes in tomorrow (Monday) for open-heart surgery. He's a strong believer, but needs a peace about all that will take place tomorrow. I trust you will lift he & my mom up as they walk through this together. Thank you ahead of time for your prayers!

Have a great day off tomorrow & be safe!

DON'T LET THE ICE KEEP YOU FROM WORSHIP!

Just a quick note to let you know that all Quail Springs Baptist Church services & activities have been canceled for tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 14. We have also post-poned the Winter Bible Study for this week until further notice.

For all students: I know tomorrow is a "break" from the usual organized church happenings, but it is also a unique moment to see if what you will do in lieu of some time off from "business as usual." What will you do with your day for the Lord? For your family? For someone in your neighborhood? Remember compassion over sacrifice. (Matthew 9) As you share yourself with others this Sunday and this week, please send some comments this way to encourage others to step out of the norm. Peace to your days! Keep safe & stay warm!
